As we begin the New Year we also launch into the second half of our 2009-10 season of great live entertainment at your PAC. The fun begins with the trio Dangerous Folk in a concert of classic folk music from the 1960’s entitled “Blowing in the Wind” on Saturday, January 16th at 2:00 PM. You won’t want to miss this great family entertainment paying tribute those stirring songs that we all remember from Peter, Paul, and Mary, The Kingston Trio, Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, Phil Ochs, John Denver and more. Sing along with your favorites including: If I Had A Hammer, Leaving’ on a Jet Plane, Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Turn Turn Turn, Don’t Think Twice, Green Back Dollar and many more.
Thanks to the sponsorship of Alliant Energy Foundation and Heart of Wisconsin United Way, Dangerous Folk will also be presenting workshops to area elementary and middle school students the day before the public concert.
Other shows to look forward to include: The return of the incredible vocal show group The Nylons on February 6th; Brad Zinn’s The Great Comedians-Those Felt Hat and Big Cigar Funnymen on March 27th which pays tribute to Red Skelton, George Burns, Groucho Marx, W.C Fields, Jack Benny, Johnny Carson and many others; The Association, on April 17th,bringing back their top 40 hits “Along Comes Mary”, “Never My Love”, “Cherish”, “Windy” and more, with special guests Just Cruisin’; And perhaps our most exciting show of the season, Barrage on May 8th – a high octane fiddle fest that features an international multi-talented cast performing an eclectic mix of music song, and dance - from Irish jigs to The Beatles.
It’s not too late to take advantage of a special 10% savings with the purchase of tickets to your choice of any four remaining shows, or to provide someone special with a gift certificate to see a live performance at your PAC.
