AT YOUR PAC
By Connie Waterman - Executive Director
April 08, 2009
We have received numerous comments raving about our last show, The Nylons. Many new faces were in the crowd, and more and more people are discovering the wonderful live entertainment being offered at your PAC. Our next show will continue the streak of exciting performances - on Saturday, May 9th you can enjoy the jazzy, bluesy, swingin’ sounds of Randy Sabien, internationally renowned jazz violinist, and his new 8 piece Fiddlehead Band. Stop in for tickets to go with your Mother’s Day card, or a gift certificate for any of our shows next season!
Area children can mark their calendars for July 13 through 18, when Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre will be coming to town to produce Alice In Wonderland with local youth ages 7 and up. Registration and auditions will be held at 12:30 on Monday, July 13th at the McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center. There is no fee for participating thanks to the sponsorship of Heart of Wisconsin United Way and The Oberreich Foundation. Watch this newspaper for more details in coming weeks.
Almost daily someone asks how we manage to bring national acts to our small community. The answer involves both support from within our community and being able to bring in customers form other areas. Almost one third of our patrons actually come from outside of Waushara County – for The Nylons 6 were from out of state! We hope that even more area residents will discover what we have to offer, but the biggest reason we can provide quality entertainment at affordable prices is our local support. Many volunteers help in promoting our efforts, ushering at shows, manning the box office, and serving on our board of directors. Over 80 individual donors have become “Friends of The PAC” in the past year through financial contributions. In addition over 60 local businesses and service organizations have been very generous in providing sponsorship and advertising revenue. We will soon be out in the community looking for support for next season’s programming at your PAC – there’s still room for more of you to support the arts in our fine community!
